Kings Canyon.

After seeing the lovely sunrise over Uluru we headed back to camp for breaky, showers & then packed up & hit the road again. This time, headed for Kings Canyon. It was about a 300km journey. Stopped at a truck stop for a snack, then again at Kings Creek Station for fuel. Kings Creek Station is a Camel farm! It was rather obvious as we got closer, lots of Camel poo everywhere! Moving on & here are a couple of pics we took from the car on our way.

We arrived at Kings Canyon Resort, got a great site, overlooking the range. I've never hung out washing with such a magnificent view! After a late lunch & doing some washing we drove out to Kings Canyon itself. We were able to do the kings creek walk which goes as far as you can up to where the canyon is. The kings Canyon walk was going to be too difficult for Maurice & Felicity to do. It was a little bit of a shame because the view would have been awsome, but when travellig with the kids there is only so much you can do! Perhaps one day we will come back again & do a few things we haven't on this trip because they are so young.
Anyway, the creek walk was great & had some fantastic views and plenty to look at. The kids did very well with the walk, only Flick had one little fall but only a small graze on her hand.

So after our walk we took a drive out past the resort to one of the roads that went via Glen Helen Resort to Alice Springs. We were told that it wasn't really a road for taking the van on, but once we took a look we discovered that it was like an old 'back road' at home, we could probably take the van on this road, as long as it was the same all the way. However, when checking into the resort Trent was tols not to take that road & to take another one that was also unsealed but better. Anyway, we had all night to decide about which road to take, how much time it would save us & what our plans would be.

Back at the resort we had showers and then headed over to the outback bar and restaurant. We were told that they had entertainment which was very good for the kids. The 'Roadies' were playing. They were right, our kids had a ball & so did we! Although rather expensive for meals and drinks, we had a great fun night! Even got up & had a dance with the kids!

And this pic ended a really fun night has by all at Kings Canyon Resort. The Roadies were lots of fun, getting everyone up & going so as to have a fun time. Of course we all obliged & took part in any activity we were asked to do! Singing & dancing & acting is all part of our family! We had a ball!
              Catch you all soon x
