Burra SA

So, as I said in the last post, we made it to the town of Burra. I didn't mention in the last post though, that Trent did his good deed for the day on the way there. We saw a couple who were pulled over on the side of the road & as we got to them asked if they were ok. They weren't sure so we pulled over & Trent went & helped them out. It seemed as though they had a leaking radiator, Trent had some solution in the back of our car that may help seal it up, so he gave it to them & the last of the water we had on board. And then, we were on our way! We did see them in the town of Burra late that afternoon as we were passing the mechanics, so we hoped that we had helped them & not made it worse anyway!

Well, Burra is a town full of history but mostly know for its Copper Mining. In the visitor information centre we made plans to do the Heritage Trail & got a set of keys to be able to unlock different sites of the mining industry that once was. It was pretty interesting & glad that we did it. Pheobe was even given a kids treasure hunt to do along the way which she completed & was given a certificate for! We also found a supermarket with a good friends name to it, so Oppy, this one is for you!

The caravan park that we stayed at was a nice little spot, it backed onto the Burra Creek. Plenty of ducks to keep the kids going & the facilities were good too. At this stage we are rating the shower as the best! We also did some much meeded catching up on washing here too. My morning walk was a little fresh here but nothing too unusual!

Here are some of the photos we took whilst in Burra.

Early morning walk & the sun is coming up over the town of Burra.

One of the first things you see as you come into the town of Burra. The road here leads to the open cut mine.

Trent & the kids outside at the top of the old Pumphouse building at the engineers museum. This is located at the open cut mine.

Oh, & this is a pic of Flick having a bath in the caravan sink, just for old times sake! She's far too big for it now but we gave it a go anyway!

And this now brings us to an end to our post about our stay in Burra.
Hope everyone is well?
Love all the Guye Gang! xo
