Kalbarri

Have just had a nice day looking around Kalbarri. The kids have had a great time playing with many other kids at the caravan park playground & jumping pillow.

After a fair drive from Monkey Mia with a quick stop back in Denham for fuel & a stop for some lunch at the Overlander Roadhouse, we made it to Kalbarri. We checked into the Caravan Park & for what was left of the afternoon we spent at the park cleaning up & the kids spent their time over at the playground.

Today was a nice day too. Spent it doing 5 loads of washing first, then breakfast & then we went out & explored around Kalbarri. Nice seaside town & great for relaxing. The town is also pretty big on its fishing, plenty of boats around & a few with lots of cray pots on them. It has the rivermouth right in the middle of town. The ocean today was very rough but we aren't sure that it is ever very calm. We took a drive along the beach & went to the Red Bluff lookout. The view of the town was very pretty from up there.

We went to the visitor centre as I wanted to find out more about the Kalbarri National Park & the Natures window lookout that I thought would be good to take a look at. But we found out that the access road to it was having work done on it & personal vehicles couldn't get there. We could have taken a tour out there as they are running a mini bus out there each day (at a cost of course) but it would have meant staying around for another day & we don't have the time. Plus I thought it was crap that they could close the road & not let people on it, but they could charge you a fee to catch a tour bus out there!
Anyway, we checked out all the little shops around town & got some lunch from the bakery, brought it back to the van & ate. We then had a visit from the ice cream van in the park & the kids of course managed to convince Trent that they all needed one! They ate & sat on the green grass while I got all the washing off the line. The rest of the day we just hung out at the park, phe did some homework, Trent read a magazine, I just had some down time & l sorted through some things. Pheobe also joined Maurice & Felicity over at te playground & jumping pillow, along with about 10 other kids by the time the afternoon was almost over. Maurice had a little boy who was the same age as he is come over & play Leggo.
We went to the little IGA supermarket & got some milk & bread & then came back & cooked dinner. We watched the Cats & Hawks game & well, we wont say anymore except that in the end, Geelong just were not good enough. Poor Pheobe had tears but after talking it through with her she calmed down & now she knows we might get home quicker coz we won't have to worry about stopping anywhere so we can watch the grand final!

Anyway, thats all the news we have for this post. Heading for Geraldton tomorrow. Take care everyone! xo
