We drove from Onslow to Exmouth on Thursday. Once we arrived we checked into the Caravan Park & un hooked & had some lunch. Once organised we took a drive out to Cape Range. We visited the Turtle Centre, the boat ramp, a couple of beaches, the Mildura Shipwreck & the Lighthouse. From the lighthouse we could see whales, it was very pretty. Here are a few of the pics we took.
The shipwreck
Back at the van & it was late so we had some dinner, showers & then got into bed. It was a Very windy night, had to roll the awning in!
Friday it was still rather windy, but we did have a fun day! Firstly we saw this roaming just outside our van. It was one of the cutiest things I have ever seen!
After Trent took the car tyre to be fixed we were on our way! We headed back out to Cape Range National Park where our first stop was the info centre. We then walked out with some snorkeling gear & were headed to Turquoise Bay for the afternoon. We had a fun time despite the rough weather. We did a little bit of snorkeling, but because the weather was so rough we couldn't really get right out to the coral. I did at one point get out a little further & over some coral & saw some beautiful coloured fish but it didn't last all that long. We did still have plenty of fish swimming aound us in the shallows & it was enough to keep the kids happy. We even had a chance to feed the fish. Kids really loved doing this & so did Trent & I. Here are a few more pics:
Late afternoon & we were back at the caravan park. There was still some daylight left for a swim in the pool! After that is was showers & then some dinner. After dinner & watching the first half of the footy I took the kids over to the outdoor movie. They had a great time snuggling under their blankets & watching the movie. I had to keep checking in on the footy score on my phone! Go Cats!!! The movie finished just in time for us to go into the camp kitchen & watch the boys sing the club song & join in of course! We are all so excited about the cats winning.
Today we spent time packing up & then once we checked out of the caravan park we went into the main shopping part of Exmouth just for a look around. On the way there we came across this fellow:
Once finished there we drove the 160km's to Coral Bay. Its a pretty little beach side town. Pitty it was still very windy, but we can imagine that on a day that isn't windy, this place would be far more beautiful. Anyway, we check in & un hooked & set up. We then took a walk along the main street of town & up to the little lookout. Then we walked back along the beach. The tide was out & we could see that it wasn't far out to the coral for a snorkel. So, we came back to the van for some lunch & got our swimming on & headed back to the beach. It was no longer than 1 hour that we were gone from the beach & the tide had come all the way! It was windy & really not that fun. All the kids did have a swim though & again we couldn't get out to the coral!
After being at the beach for about an hour or so, we made our way back to the van. We then decided to have a play & swim at the pool. It was good fun & the water was warm so it was very enjoyable.
After being at the pool we got organised quickly, it was very cold out of the water & had showers. It was then time to sit back & relax for a while before we went & had dinner at the cafe at the caravan park. After dinner the kids watched the end of a movie that was on TV before heading to bed. Felicity actually had to get into bed a little earlier as she almost fell asleep!
Anyway, thats about all the news for now. We are heading further south tomorrow. Not loving that we have to wear jumpers in the evening & first thing in the morning but I guess thats just another sign that we are getting closer to home! Stay well everyone.
