80 Mile Beach

We have just spent the past couple of nights at 80 Mile Beach. Its approx half way between Broome & Port Hedland. It was by chance that we stumbled across it. We saw the turn off sign & then Trent said to me that the name rings a bell so we did a u turn & went down the dirt road, so so glad that we did.

The 80 Mile Beach was lovely & the caravan park which is right on the beach was great too! We had a nice shaded site & it was close to the amenities. It was just a short walk over the sand dunes to this view:

We spent Friday afternoon at the beach & the kids collected so many beautiful shells & had a splash around in the water. Its not really a swimming beach so it was nice to get our legs wet!

We also had a nice time watching the sunset & fade into the ocean.

Saturday we spent the morning relaxing, doing some homework & playing with toys! Just before lunch we went for a walk to see the high tide & we couldn't believe our eyes! The beach for as far as you could see was full of people fishing! We saw many fish being caught & a HUGE one being cleaned at the fish cleaning table. It was apparently 22lb!

          This was the HUGE one!

The afternoon was spent watching the footy, but we are not going to talk any more about that! The Cats need a rocket up their butts if they want to make it any further! That is all!
Later in the afternoon we went for a drive along the beach at low tide & it was amazing to see how far out the water really was. You would have needed a cut lunch to get out there & back it was that far out! Of course we watched the sunset again, you can never get sick of doing this, they are just so beautiful.

Today we got up reasonably early & packed up & got ready to head back on the road again. The kids were in a really good mood & we took a few pics in the van before we left.

And finally this is a pic of Miss Felicity enjoying herself as we were driving along & looking cute too!

Hope everyone is well & you enjoyed your election weekend, we sure did! Loved being able to vote early & then forget about the whole thing & enjoy our time at 80 Mile Beach!
